A modern sport or work rig is a rolling 12-volt system — winch, lights, audio, A/C, aux batteries. The factory alternator wasn't built for all of it at once.
Polaris's gas flagships are built to do a lot. The RZR Pro R runs a 2.0L ProStar four-cylinder and is loaded for hard desert and trail use; the Ranger XD pairs a 1.5L three-cylinder with a heavy-duty work mission. Both leave the factory ready for accessories — and both reach a point, once you've added them all, where the stock alternator simply can't keep up.
Mechman® closes that gap with a 250-amp and 400-amp billet alternator engineered for Polaris 1.5L and 2.0L engines (2020–2025). It mounts in the factory location using the factory stretch belt — no new brackets — and is built to hold stable charging from low RPM through peak engine speed, exactly where a loaded rig needs it.

Hard use stacks the amps fast
Individually, none of these accessories seems like much. Together — and running at the same time — they add up past what a factory UTV alternator was sized to deliver:
- A winch for self-recovery — a momentary draw that can exceed the entire factory alternator's output on a hard pull.
- LED light bars and pods for night runs and pre-dawn starts.
- Cab A/C and heat — the Pro R Ultimate and other climate-equipped trims add a real, continuous electrical load.

The real test is low RPM
A side-by-side or work UTV spends a lot of time at low engine speed — crawling an obstacle, idling at camp, working a job site. That's where ordinary alternators sag well below their rated output, and it's exactly when a loaded rig is asking for the most current. The Mechman billet units are built to deliver maximum charging performance across the entire RPM range, so your voltage holds whether you're pinned or barely moving.

A clean, bolt-in install
The B22953 platform mounts in the factory location on the factory stretch belt, uses an internal regulator with a one-wire excitation connection, and ships with the regulator excitation pigtail plus a spacer for proper mounting of the factory cover bracket. It integrates cleanly into the OEM belt drive and is built to last in street, off-road, and work-use environments.

Will this alternator fit my RZR Pro R or Ranger XD?
Yes — the 250-amp and 400-amp billet alternators are engineered for 2020–2025 Polaris 1.5L and 2.0L engine applications, which covers the gas RZR Pro R (2.0L), the Ranger XD (1.5L), and the 2020+ Slingshot (2.0L). Do I need 250 amps or 400 amps?
For a well-equipped trail or work rig — winch, lighting, comms, modest audio, climate — the 250-amp unit usually has the headroom you want. If you're running big audio, extensive lighting, multiple auxiliary battery banks, or sustained heavy loads all at once, step up to the 400-amp, which is the highest output offered for this platform.
Why does my voltage drop when I run the winch or A/C?
Because those loads can exceed what the factory alternator supplies, especially at low RPM. A winch alone can momentarily draw more than the stock alternator's full output; add A/C, lights, and audio and the battery drains to make up the difference. A high-output alternator restores the headroom so voltage stays stable under load.
How does it install?
It's a direct-fit upgrade: mount in the factory location on the factory stretch belt, connect the one-wire excitation using the included pigtail, and fit the included spacer for the factory cover bracket.
