When one alternator isn't enough
Big audio is the classic case — amplifiers that pull hundreds of amps at volume will drag a single-alternator system flat, dimming lights and dropping voltage at idle. Heavy lighting, inverters, and accessory loads do the same. A second alternator multiplies your charging capacity so voltage stays stable under load.
These Mechman GM dual kits are 100% complete bolt-on multiple-alternator kits for 1999–2018 full-size GM truck and SUV fitments — everything from the belt to the wiring harnesses is supplied for a trouble-free install.

Already have your alternators? Start with the bracket-only kit. Want a turnkey setup? Step up to a kit that includes one or two 400-amp alternators. Each added alternator is a 400-amp unit, so a dual build adds serious, dedicated headroom.

Which GM trucks does this fit?

Should I get bracket-only or a complete kit?
If you already own the alternators you want to run, the bracket-only kit is the economical route. If you'd rather buy it turnkey, choose a kit that includes one or two 400-amp alternators.
One added alternator or two?
Both configurations are offered. Add one 400-amp alternator for a meaningful boost, or two for the largest dual-alternator headroom on the platform.
How much power does each alternator add?
Each alternator in these kits is a 400-amp unit, so the added capacity scales with how many you run.
Is it a complete kit?
The complete kits include the bracket assembly, belt, wiring harnesses, alternator(s), and hardware. Read the included instructions for proper spacer usage to ensure correct belt alignment.
Where is it made and is it warrantied?
Every Mechman alternator is built in Knoxville, Tennessee. Optional 1-year, 2-year, and lifetime internal-parts (brushes, bearings, rectifier, regulator) warranty terms are available at checkout.
