MM-VC4 Voltage controller for Ford 6G alternators, 3-pin RVC compatible

✅ It WILL work on: Ford vehicles that use a 6G-style alternator with a 3-pin regulator plug ONLY if that plug has a middle pin (pin #2) present and active (This is what Ford calls their RVC or computer-controlled voltage system.) Common vehicles with the right setup include:

1999–2010 F-150

1999–2014 Mustang

2000–2014 Expedition

2000–2014 Explorer

2001–2010 Windstar / Freestar (Windstar was first with PCM-controlled 6G)

2000–2010 Ranger

2000–2012 E-Series vans (E-150 / E-250 / E-350)

Various Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, and Town Car models (early 2000s)

These years aren’t guaranteed, but they’re most likely to have the correct 6G 3-pin setup. ALWAYS check for the middle pin in the plug.


❌ It will NOT work on:

Fords with:

4G or 3G alternators

The wrong plug (missing middle pin)

LINbus or PCM-controlled Smart alternators (mostly 2022+)

Newer vehicles (2022 and up) with LIN or BMS-based charging systems

Any non-Ford vehicles — unless you’ve swapped in a Ford 6G alternator with the 3-pin plug and middle pin.


? Pro Tip: If the alternator plug on your Ford has 3 wires and a middle wire is present, you’re likely good to go. If it only has 2 wires (no middle), it’s not RVC and this controller won’t work.
