Conflict-Free (3TG) Materials Statement
Background:
In 2010, the United States Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Act, which directs the Securities and
Exchange Commission to require companies to disclose their use of conflict minerals if those minerals
are necessary to the functionality or production of a product. Conflict minerals include tin, tantalum,
tungsten, and gold (3TG) sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and adjoining
countries.
Statement:
Mechman Alternators supports efforts to ensure that conflict minerals do not contribute to armed
conflict and human rights abuses in the DRC region. While Mechman is not a publicly traded
company, we recognize the importance of supply chain responsibility and require our suppliers to
establish policies and provide documentation confirming that materials supplied to Mechman are
sourced responsibly. Our supply chain is complex, and in many cases we are several steps removed
from the smelter or mine. Therefore, this statement is based on information provided by our suppliers,
who are expected to complete the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) Conflict Minerals Reporting
Template (CMRT). To the best of our knowledge, based on supplier declarations and due diligence,
Mechman Alternators does not knowingly use conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance
armed conflict in the DRC or adjoining countries.
