The Mechman dual-alternator bracket kit is engineered to bolt into GM V6 and V8 engines, providing secure mounting, excellent belt wrap, and the hardware needed for dual alternators — ideal for demanding setups like winches, sound systems, or lighting rigs. Paired with this, the 48-Volt Idle Max Alternator features a GM Vortec-style housing and an integrated internal regulator preset to 57 V, producing up to ~50 A at idle and peaking at ~100 A. Because the alternator is self-contained, installation is clean and straightforward — just hook up a 12 V ignition wire, and you’re set. Together, these parts form a reliable, bolt-on power solution for off-grid systems, auxiliary 48-V battery banks, or any application that needs strong low-RPM charging.

48-Volt Alternator | B11480100-EXT-LFP:

This alternator comes complete with a Wakespeed WS500 external smart regulator, providing adaptive charging control and simplified integration. Engineered for use with AGM battery banks, it delivers full charging capability at idle. Housed in a GM Vortec-style case with a slightly increased housing size, it provides strong performance while maintaining broad aftermarket bracket compatibility. Customers must ensure there is adequate clearance for installation due to the increased housing size.

This alternator is ideal for overland and RV power systems, keeping lithium banks charged during extended off-grid stays. It’s also a strong fit for commercial and industrial vehicles running heavy onboard loads, as well as emergency and backup power setups where dependable charging at idle is critical. In short, it provides serious charging power right where you need it most.

 Note: This alternator is supplied with an 8-groove, 50mm pulley. If using a belt with fewer than 8 grooves, the belt must be aligned with the inward grooves closest to the alternator face. Because of the high power these units produce at idle, some smaller engines may require our 6-groove underdrive pulley for proper operation.

⚠️ Customer Responsibility: Customers must be running a battery bank of at least 100Ah. It is critical that the customer confirms the generic profile matches their battery requirements. Refer to the image below and your battery manufacturer’s specification sheet before installation. Mechman will not be responsible for issues caused by a mismatch. Adjustments can be made through the Wakespeed app if required.
