This 6-phase alternator makes excellent output at idle and features a standard diameter pulley for improved belt grip. It also has an extremely efficient finned rectifier assembly with (16) diodes for outstanding durability. This alternator use the same style 6G 3pin alternator plug connection and requires the vehicles computer for voltage control. Simply plug in your OEM 6G 3pin connector to our alternator for proper charging. This alternator is also compatible with our MM-VC4 for user adjustable voltage.
It is recommended to fabricate a simple upper metal bracket support for maximum rigidity, belt alignment and durability when increasing amperage over OEM output. Please understand this is an extremely tight fitting due to the intake manifold and alternator installation location and wiring. If you have any aftermarket type of intake manifold or alternator relocations due to aftermarket supercharging, we cannot confirm or deny fitment on those variables.
This 250-amp alternator can produce appx. 190-200 amps just at vehicle idle and usually over 265 amps at driving RPM's. This is a great upgrade for those that do not wish to move to a shorter belt or are just looking for the most output at idle you can attain on this platform. If you are needing over 300 amps for larger systems, please look into our extreme belt wrap billet version. It is the only V-mount Ford alternator on the market designed the way it is because it fixes the inherent poor belt wrap on modular Ford based engines. It's a game changer for sure!
We recommend this on all Ford V-mount style alternators that do not have the (2) upper "ears/supports" like you see in our version. For severe duty applications, we recommend a bolt upgrade on the (2) lower mounting bolts along with large surface washers and in some fitments a retaining nut on the backside of the upgraded mount bolts.
